The Visual Sounds mod introduces a layer of intuitive visual feedback, allowing you to “see” the sounds around you, providing crucial information at a glance.

This mod overlays the game world with visual indicators that precisely pinpoint the location, distance, and volume of various sounds. This means you can gain a tactical advantage by understanding the direction and intensity of nearby noises, even those outside your immediate line of sight. For zombie encounters, these indicators can even offer insight into their behavior, helping you anticipate their movements.

Trait Integration for Deeper Immersion

Visual Sounds intelligently interacts with certain character traits to further refine the experience:

  • Keen Hearing: Characters with this trait will enjoy a 20% increase in the detection radius for visual sound cues, allowing for earlier threat identification.
  • Hard of Hearing: Conversely, those with this trait will experience a 20% decrease in the detection radius, reflecting a reduced ability to perceive distant sounds.
  • Deaf: Players choosing the Deaf trait will find that visual sound indicators are completely disabled, maintaining the intended gameplay challenge.

Customizable Options for Every Playstyle

The mod offers a dedicated “Visual Sounds Options” tab within the game’s settings menu. Here, you have the flexibility to choose precisely which types of sounds you want to visualize. Furthermore, you can enable different game modes to control when these indicators are active, ensuring they enhance your gameplay without becoming intrusive.
