Playable Arcade Machines for 41

Bring the Arcade Home in Project Zomboid

When the undead horde makes outdoor survival a grim prospect, it’s time to retreat indoors and seek solace in the glow of a salvaged arcade machine. This mod introduces playable arcade cabinets into your Project Zomboid experience, offering a much-needed distraction from the constant threat of a zombie apocalypse.

Entertainment and Morale Boost

Scavenge the ruins of civilization and uncover these vintage entertainment units. Once powered up, these machines can significantly reduce your character’s boredom, unhappiness, and stress levels. While the effects are subtle per session, regular play can lead to a more stable and content survivor. Even interrupting a game mid-session provides a partial morale boost, making it a worthwhile activity.

Key Features

  • Three distinct, playable arcade machines.
  • Reduced boredom, unhappiness, and stress through gameplay.
  • Requires electricity to operate.
  • Generates noise that can attract nearby zombies – play wisely!
  • Custom animations for a more immersive experience.
  • Controller support and multiplayer compatibility.
  • Compatible with existing saves.

Gameplay Mechanics

Each machine features unique in-game sounds, adding to the atmosphere. Players will automatically position themselves in front of the machine to interact and play. For the PAWS Pinball Machine, players must select the front half of the unit to initiate gameplay. Importantly, no in-game currency is required to play, though future implementations are a possibility.

Be warned: the sounds emanating from these machines are not subtle and will undoubtedly draw the attention of any nearby undead. Strategic placement and timing are crucial to enjoying your arcade time without inadvertently creating a horde at your doorstep. This mod adds a unique layer of downtime activity, allowing survivors to find moments of respite amidst the chaos.
