Master Your Medications with Medicine Moodles for Project Zomboid
Navigating the complex world of Project Zomboid survival often means relying on a variety of medicines to keep your survivor in fighting shape. But how long will that painkiller last? When is the optimal time to take your next dose of antidepressants? The Medicine Moodles mod is here to bring clarity to your medical cabinet, providing essential information directly through your survivor’s moodle system.
Understanding Your Medicine’s Effects
This mod introduces a system that visualizes the remaining duration of various medicinal effects. Instead of guessing, you’ll have a clear understanding of when your medications will wear off. The intensity of these effects is broken down into four distinct levels, giving you immediate feedback on your survivor’s internal state:
- Moodle Level 1: Indicates 0%-10% of the medication’s duration remaining.
- Moodle Level 2: Shows 10%-40% of the duration remaining.
- Moodle Level 3: Represents 40%-70% of the duration remaining.
- Moodle Level 4: Signifies 70%-100% of the duration remaining.
Key Interactions and Features
Medicine Moodles goes beyond simple duration tracking. It accounts for several nuanced interactions within the game:
- Antidepressants: These require time to become fully effective, and their progress is now visually represented.
- Alcoholic Beverages: Consuming alcohol can provide a compounded effect, influencing antidepressants, beta-blockers, painkillers, and reducing the efficacy of sleeping tablets.
- Sleeping Tablets: The intensity of sleeping tablets now stacks, with detailed information available by hovering over the relevant moodle icon.
- Lemongrass: This item features an internal cooldown to manage its effects on food sickness or poison levels.
- Compatibility: The mod is designed to integrate with other mods that utilize the vanilla game’s medication mechanics, displaying their effects within the new moodle system.
Customization and Flexibility
For those who prefer a more challenging experience, the optional MedicineMoodlesSkillRequirements submod can be enabled. This adds skill-based requirements for moodles to appear, rather than them being displayed universally. Furthermore, the values and parameters for these moodles can be extensively customized within the sandbox options, allowing you to tailor the mod precisely to your gameplay preferences.
Medicine Moodles is safe to add to or remove from existing saves, offering a flexible way to enhance your Project Zomboid experience. Whether you’re a seasoned survivor or just starting out, understanding your medicinal buffs and their durations is crucial for long-term survival.
