Inspect Weapon
Project Zomboid: Inspect Your Gear with the Inspect Weapon Mod
Tired of juggling your inventory to check the condition of your survival tools in Project Zomboid? The Inspect Weapon mod offers a streamlined solution, allowing you to quickly assess your primary melee or ranged weapon without disrupting your flow. Say goodbye to endless scrolling and hello to instant battlefield readiness.
Effortless Inspection
This intuitive mod provides several convenient ways to inspect your equipped weapon:
- Quick Access: Hold down your reload button and select “Inspect Weapon” from the radial menu.
- Inventory Check: Right-click any weapon within your inventory or a container to inspect it. The mod will attempt to equip it for a closer look.
- Dedicated Keybind: A customizable hotkey (defaulting to ‘;’) allows for instant inspection of your currently held weapon. You can rebind this key in the game’s options menu.
Immersive Condition Reports
Beyond just numbers, the Inspect Weapon mod presents weapon condition in a more immersive, narrative-driven way, inspired by the feel of other survival titles. You’ll see descriptive estimations rather than precise percentages:
- Pristine: A weapon in perfect, untouched condition.
- Used: Shows signs of wear, even if at 100% condition after previous repairs.
- Damaged: Noticeably worn and less reliable.
- Badly Damaged: Nearing the end of its usable life.
Similarly, the number of repairs is estimated, giving you a feel for how much a weapon has been maintained. An “Information” button also appears for damaged items, allowing you to initiate repairs directly from the inspection screen.
Ranged Weapon Specifics
For firearms, the inspection screen provides details on attachments. You can easily equip or un-equip compatible accessories by clicking on the available slots. For magazines, you can right-click to load or unload ammunition, ensuring you’re always prepared.
Compatibility and Future Updates
The Inspect Weapon mod has been developed with compatibility in mind, including adjustments for popular additions like VFE. While the developer is actively working on further enhancements and bug fixes, initial feedback indicates solid performance and an enriching addition to the Project Zomboid experience.
