Project Zomboid: Elevate Your Angling with the Fishing+ Mod

For the dedicated survivors of Project Zomboid, the humble act of fishing can be a vital source of sustenance. The Fishing+ mod breathes new life into this essential survival mechanic, offering a more engaging and rewarding experience for players on B41. Say goodbye to monotonous catches and hello to a revamped system that truly tests your angling prowess.

A More Rewarding Fishing Experience

Fishing+ fundamentally reworks how you gain experience from your time by the water. The mod introduces a dynamic XP gain system where the size of your catch directly impacts your rewards. Hook a behemoth, and you’ll see a significant boost to your Fishing skill, accelerating your progression. Even the seemingly mundane act of reeling in trash now contributes to your XP, ensuring no moment by the lake is wasted.

Enhanced Fish and Loot Dynamics

Prepare for a more diverse haul with Fishing+. The mod introduces a new “Prize” fish size, significantly larger than the already substantial “Big” fish, offering a greater challenge and even more valuable rewards. As your Fishing level increases, the likelihood of encountering smaller, less substantial fish diminishes, making every cast at higher levels feel more impactful. Furthermore, the trash loot table has been expanded and weighted, increasing the chance of finding more useful items the higher your Fishing skill becomes. This means even your unwanted catches have a better chance of yielding something of value.

Customizable Gameplay with Sandbox Options

Fishing+ offers a robust suite of sandbox options, allowing you to tailor the mod to your preferred playstyle. You can select from various XP gain rates – High, Medium, or Low (near vanilla) – or fine-tune the multiplier for precise control. Adjust the nutritional value of fish to better align with your survival needs, and choose whether to enable or disable the reworked trash loot table. Additionally, you can configure whether fish abundance decreases with every catch or only when a fish is successfully landed.

This mod is fully compatible with existing savegames and multiplayer, making it easy to integrate into your ongoing survival efforts. For dedicated server administrators, sandbox options can be adjusted on the fly, though a restart may sometimes be necessary.
