Unleash Divine Power in Civilization VI with the ‘Descent of the Seven Sages’ Mod

A Divine Boon for Your Empire

Prepare to witness an unprecedented surge of power in your games of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI with the “Descent of the Seven Sages” mod. This transformative mod introduces seven exclusive, city-based projects, each inspired by figures from Chinese mythology. These Sages grant permanent, potent enhancements to various military branches and your empire’s overall development, offering a distinct advantage to human players seeking to dominate the world stage.

The Seven Sages and Their Blessings

Each of the seven unique projects can be constructed once per human player, requiring a modest 300 production. Upon completion, a visually striking, full-screen “Sage Descent” animation plays, signifying the infusion of divine power into your civilization. The mod requires the Gathering Storm expansion to function.

  • Archery Sage: Grants ranged land and naval units +1 attack range and +1 attack per turn, along with increased combat strength against full-health units. Higher-level units gain a “Pierce” ability, dealing splash damage to enemies in a straight line behind the primary target. Land ranged units also gain the ability to ignore terrain movement costs.
  • Warrior Sage: Enhances melee land units and monks with +2 vision, full damage against city walls, and terrain-ignoring movement. Units recover health upon defeating enemies and gain permanent +3 combat strength per kill, stacking infinitely. Higher-level units also inflict a movement debuff on adjacent enemies.
  • Cavalry Sage: Boosts light and heavy cavalry with +2 movement, the ability to ignore terrain and rivers, and continued movement after attacking. Units have a 70% chance to critically strike, dealing roughly double damage. Critical hits affect units, city centers, and defensive districts. Higher-level cavalry grant adjacent allied units bonus movement.
  • Rogue Sage: Empowers scout units with +3 vision and +2 movement, ignoring terrain costs. They can enter foreign territory without open borders and gain combat strength in forests and rainforests. Units regenerate health each turn and, at level 4, unlock the “Assassinate” ability to target foreign civilian units, though with potential risks and diplomatic penalties on failure.
  • Naval Sage: Enhances all naval units with +1 movement and +1 vision, allowing access to deep ocean without technological prerequisites. At level 4, ships gain “Grandeur,” promoting frigates to fleets and fleets to armadas upon victory. This Sage also allows for the founding of cities on adjacent, valid coastal tiles.
  • Siege Sage: Improves siege units with +1 movement, vision, attack range, and attacks per turn. Attacks deal splash damage to enemies adjacent to the primary target. Higher-level units gain “Thunderclap,” granting siege tower-like wall-breaching capabilities to themselves and nearby allies.
  • Benevolence Sage: Offers city-wide bonuses of +2 food per turn, +100% city growth speed, and +2 population for newly founded cities. Generates bonus loyalty pressure and automatically annexes cities with zero loyalty. Conquered cities do not lose population, and civilian units ignore terrain movement costs. Converts 50% of Culture and Science output into Faith and speeds up construction. The first Governor to achieve all promotions permanently removes War Weariness and prevents loyalty decay.

The “Descent of the Seven Sages” mod is designed as a powerful boost, ideal for challenging game settings or when playing with highly aggressive AI or leader mods. Integrate these divine blessings into your Civilization VI experience and forge a path to unparalleled victory!
