Wireless Power – Fixed
Revolutionize Your Base with Wireless Power in Oxygen Not Included
Tired of the spaghetti of wires snaking across your duplicant colony? Imagine a future where power flows freely and invisibly, reaching every corner of your base without a single conduit. This mod introduces an advanced wireless energy distribution system, offering a clean, scalable, and remarkably efficient solution to a fundamental challenge in Oxygen Not Included.
The Core Concepts
At the heart of this system are three key components: Wireless Batteries, Senders, and Receivers. Wireless Batteries collectively define the storage capacity of an entire wireless channel. Senders act as the conduits, drawing local power and injecting it into a designated wireless channel. Conversely, Receivers tap into the channel, drawing power to supply local circuits. Multiple Senders and Receivers can operate on the same channel, creating a unified energy network. A crucial rule to remember is that a single circuit can host either Senders or Receivers, but not both, to maintain the integrity of the power flow.
Key Features for an Enhanced Experience
This mod brings a wealth of configurable options and improvements to your power management:
- Wireless Buildings: Deployable Wireless Batteries, Senders, and Receivers eliminate the need for extensive wiring.
- Channel System: Isolate and manage multiple independent wireless power grids within your base.
- Configurable Transfer Rates: Fine-tune how much power is sent or received per tick to optimize energy flow.
- Adjustable Thresholds: Set specific battery charge levels to trigger power reception, ensuring efficient use of stored energy.
- Automation Support: Integrate Senders and Receivers into your existing automation networks for dynamic control.
- Reduced Heat Output: Enjoy significantly lower heat generation compared to traditional wiring methods.
- Refined Metal Construction: Build these advanced components using readily available refined metals.
Understanding Sender and Receiver Operation
The Wireless Sender functions as a power consumer on its local circuit, drawing energy to transmit it wirelessly. Its operation is governed by the selected channel and the transfer amount, with a configurable transmission loss percentage. The Sender will only operate if it is enabled, powered, and if there are available batteries within its designated channel.
The Wireless Receiver, on the other hand, acts as a power generator for its local circuit. It draws power from the selected channel and outputs it locally, always matching real demand rather than just potential load. This intelligent behavior prevents unnecessary draining of your wireless grid. A key setting is the Battery Threshold, which dictates when the Receiver should stop supplying power to local batteries once a certain charge level is reached, and automatically resume when the charge drops.
By implementing this wireless power solution, you can streamline your base design, improve power efficiency, and reduce the clutter and heat associated with traditional power grids, all while keeping your duplicants happy and productive.
