Rebuildable AETN

Rebuildable AETN

Rebuild Your Anti-Entropy Thermo-Nullifier in Oxygen Not Included

Tired of the Anti-Entropy Thermo-Nullifier (AETN) being fixed in one inconvenient location? This mod introduces a game-changing ability: the power to relocate your AETN wherever it best suits your base’s strategic layout.

Dismantle and Rebuild

With the Rebuildable AETN mod, your duplicants can now carefully disassemble existing AETNs. This process yields valuable Neutronium Cores, the essential component for constructing new AETNs. Before you can begin this advanced construction, your researchers will need to study the natural AETN, much like you would study geysers. Once the technology is unlocked, you can begin building your own AETNs in more advantageous positions, optimizing your thermal regulation efforts.

Construction Requirements

To undertake the deconstruction and reconstruction of an AETN, your duplicants will need to possess the Construction III skill. This ensures that only your most experienced builders are handling these complex and critical structures. Rebuilt AETNs will function identically to their naturally occurring counterparts but will not require further study once constructed.

Enhanced Functionality

To further streamline your operations, this mod adds a Logical Port to the AETN. This integration allows for easier automation and monitoring, giving you greater control over your base’s temperature management systems.

Acquiring Neutronium Cores

Neutronium Cores are not only obtained from dismantling existing AETNs. You can also find them through various means:

  • Care Packages delivered to your asteroid.
  • Salvaging from derelict structures within ruins, with items like the Director’s Desk and Crushed Satellite offering a high chance, while Lockers and Vending Machines provide a lower probability.
  • Exploring specific planetoids like Interstellar Ice and Ice Giant in the vanilla game.
  • Discovering them in Space Points of Interest (POIs) within the DLC.

For those playing the DLC, Neutronium Cores acquired through these alternative methods will require processing at the Artifact Analysis Station before they can be used.

Configuration Options

This mod offers a flexible configuration experience. Players can adjust various settings, including the probabilities of finding cores in different locations, the parameters for Care Packages, and the option to disable the integrated Logical Port. These options can be accessed via the Main Menu, navigating to Mods, and selecting Rebuildable AETN.
