Queue for Sinks
Streamline Duplicant Sanitation with Queue for Sinks
Maintaining Duplicant hygiene is a critical aspect of survival in Oxygen Not Included. Without proper sanitation, your colony can quickly fall victim to disease, impacting productivity and morale. The “Queue for Sinks” mod addresses a common logistical bottleneck by introducing an intelligent queuing system for essential sanitation buildings.
How the Queue for Sinks Mod Enhances Your Colony
This mod ensures that your Duplicants no longer waste precious time or cause congestion around vital facilities like Wash Basins, Sinks, Hand Sanitizers, and Ore Scrubbers. When a Duplicant arrives at a sanitation building and finds it occupied, they will now automatically form an orderly queue. This simple yet effective mechanic prevents multiple Duplicants from attempting to use the same facility simultaneously, leading to a smoother workflow and improved efficiency.
Key Features for Optimal Sanitation Management
The “Queue for Sinks” mod offers several enhancements to your sanitation routines:
- Intelligent Queuing: Duplicants will only join a queue if they genuinely need to use a sanitation building.
- Uninterrupted Passage: If a sanitation building is non-functional (e.g., disabled, broken, or lacking resources like water), Duplicants will bypass it without queuing.
- Priority Override for Emergencies: Duplicants experiencing suffocation and requiring oxygen will be allowed to pass sanitation buildings, even if they are carrying germs, prioritizing immediate survival.
- Support for Multiple Buildings: The mod intelligently manages multiple, adjacent sanitation buildings of the same type, allowing Duplicants to spread out and use available facilities when they are all in use.
Optimizing Sanitation Building Placement
For the advanced multiple-building queuing feature to function correctly, specific conditions must be met. Each building must be of the same type (e.g., all Sinks or all Wash Basins), positioned adjacent to each other on the same level without any gaps. Furthermore, all buildings in the group must be functional and possess identical direction requirements. If these conditions aren’t met, Duplicants will default to queuing for the first building in the designated group. This thoughtful implementation ensures that your Duplicants efficiently manage their sanitation needs, contributing to a healthier and more productive base.
