This mod provides a fun diversion for your duplicants, allowing them to try their luck with a variety of low-value resources.
How the Gambling Machine Works
The core mechanic of the Gambling Machine is straightforward: your duplicants can attempt to win valuable items by “gambling” away bulk resources. Each draw, whether a single attempt or a “ten-draw” bundle, consumes a significant amount of a chosen substance – specifically, 200KG per draw. This means you’ll need to ensure a steady supply of at least 200KG of a resource before your duplicants can initiate a round of gambling.
To operate the machine, simply interact with the building and select either the “Single Draw” or “Ten Draws” button. The mod is designed to integrate seamlessly into your existing colony’s infrastructure, appearing under the Furniture menu and requiring the Refined Objects technology to be researched.
Resource Options and Strategic Play
The developers have implemented an interesting system that allows for strategic resource selection. Initially, the Gambling Machine was designed to consume generic low-value substances. However, updates have introduced the ability to use Metal Ore and Refined Metal as inputs.
* **Metal Ore:** Consuming 100kg of Metal Ore will reduce the “random maximum” by 100.
* **Refined Metal:** Consuming 100kg of Refined Metal will reduce the “random maximum” by 200.
The “random maximum” directly influences the odds of winning and the quality of the prizes awarded. A smaller random maximum increases the chances of a successful draw and yields better rewards, adding a layer of strategic depth for players looking to optimize their gambling outcomes.
