Introducing the Balloon Dispenser
The Balloon Dispenser is a new recreational building that seamlessly integrates into your existing colony infrastructure. Found under the Furniture/Recreation tab, this building requires a modest investment of 250KG of refined metal and is unlocked through the “Home Luxuries” research. Once constructed, it becomes a source of cheer for your Duplicants during their breaks.
How it Works and Key Features
At its core, the Balloon Dispenser provides Duplicants with a delightful balloon, enhancing their mood and offering a subtle but impactful buff. Here’s what you can expect:
- Morale Boost: Each dispensed balloon grants a “Balloon Buddy” buff, providing a small but valuable boost to Duplicant morale (defaulting to +3, with configurable options).
- Gas Utility: The dispenser utilizes a small amount of gas to create each balloon. By default, it consumes 2KG of either hydrogen or helium. This allows for strategic use of gasses within your colony.
- Customization Options: Tailor the experience to your colony’s aesthetic and your preferences. The dispenser features a selection screen allowing you to enable/disable specific balloon skins and choose between random or queue-based skin selection.
- Flexible Gas Delivery: Easily integrate the Balloon Dispenser into your gas management systems. It offers the flexibility to switch between manual gas delivery and piped gas input.
Enhanced Integration and Community Contributions
This mod offers excellent compatibility, particularly with the Varicoloured Balloons mod. When installed together, the diverse skins from Varicoloured Balloons become available for selection within the Balloon Dispenser, offering an even wider array of visual customization for your Duplicants’ new companions.
