Once placed, the Grafting Gadget allows you to select a “grafted fruit.” This can be any available food item, cooking ingredient, or even those initial, low-quality food resources you start with.
Automated Harvesting and Smart Calculations
The true magic of the Grafting Gadget lies in its automated harvesting capabilities. After a fruit is grafted onto a crop, you no longer need to manually direct your duplicants to harvest. When the crop matures, the grafted fruit will automatically drop, ready for collection. This significantly reduces the labor required for food production.
Furthermore, the mod implements intelligent calculations for harvested yields:
- When both the crop and the grafted fruit contain caloric value, the total calorie output of the harvest remains consistent with what the original crop would have provided.
- If either the crop or the grafted fruit lacks calories (such as certain vegetables), the system prioritizes maintaining the original mass of the harvest.
