Pesa EN81 and EN95
Introducing the Pesa EN81 and EN95 to Your Soviet Republic Rail Network
Enhance your transportation infrastructure in Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic with the addition of two distinct electric vehicles from the Pesa works. This mod brings the unique EN81 and EN95 electric units to your game, offering new possibilities for passenger transit and expanding the rolling stock available for your burgeoning republic.
The EN95: A Unique Prototype EMU
The EN95, also known by its design code 13WE, represents the inaugural electric multiple unit produced by the Pesa factory. Originally conceived as a four-coach lightweight unit, it featured innovative Jacobs bogies. While initial production plans were ambitious, technical challenges and passenger feedback regarding seating comfort meant this vehicle remained a sole prototype. Despite its limited service life on the WKD line between 2004 and 2019, the EN95 saw notable modifications, including the installation of air conditioning in 2007, making it the first of its kind on that particular network. Today, this historic prototype is preserved as a museum piece. This mod provides both the authentic four-coach configuration and a more compact three-coach variant, which can also be utilized on tramway lines within your republic.
The EN81: Compact Commuter Railcar
The EN81, also identified as the Pesa 308B, is a single-unit electric railcar manufactured between 2005 and 2007. With eight units produced, it shared its distinctive driver’s cab design with the EN95. These railcars were primarily used for commuter services, operating either singly or as two-car sets. However, its limited practicality, including insufficient capacity for many electrified lines and suboptimal performance when paired with trailers, alongside reliability concerns, prevented large-scale production. Although most of these units are no longer in service as of 2025, all original examples still exist.
