Teach the Angler To Fish: Master Fishing Quests in tModLoader
Tired of the endless grind for the Angler’s daily quest fish? This tModLoader mod introduces a revolutionary way to manage your fishing expeditions, transforming the often tedious Angler quest system into a streamlined, automated experience. Say goodbye to constantly searching for the specific fish of the day and hello to a more relaxed approach to accumulating those valuable rewards.
Unlocking the Angler’s Potential
The journey to automating your Angler quests begins by demonstrating your commitment. After completing a set number of Angler quests (customizable to your preference, with 10 as the default), a new “Teach” button will appear when you interact with the Angler. To initiate his training, you’ll need to craft and present him with a “Novice Training Kit.” This initial kit is crafted using a Book and a Wood Fishing Pole at a Work Bench. Once consumed, the Angler will begin his training to catch his own daily quest fish, effectively completing his own tasks for you.
Advanced Training and Mode Switching
As you progress further in your tModLoader adventures and defeat Skeletron, you can unlock advanced training for the Angler. The “Intermediate Training Kit” requires a Book, a Fisher of Souls (or Fleshcatcher), and 5 Bones, also crafted at a Work Bench. Upon using this kit, the Angler gains a significant upgrade. Furthermore, once he reaches this intermediate level, the “Teach” button gains a new function: mode switching.
Key Features of Teach the Angler To Fish:
- Automates daily Angler quest fish collection.
- Introduces craftable Training Kits for progression.
- Unlocks new functionalities after defeating Skeletron.
- Allows switching between Quest Mode and Crate Mode.
- Configurable quest completion requirement for unlocking training.
Quest Mode vs. Crate Mode
With the Intermediate Training Kit, you gain the ability to toggle the Angler’s behavior. In “Quest Mode,” the Angler will continue to automatically catch his designated daily quest fish, ensuring you receive your rewards without any effort. Alternatively, you can switch to “Crate Mode.” In this mode, the Angler will passively fish up various crates over time, providing a different, yet equally valuable, stream of loot and resources.
