Status+ for tModLoader: A Debuff Overhaul

Prepare to experience tModLoader like never before with Status+, a comprehensive mod that redefines the impact of damaging status effects. This mod injects a new layer of depth and challenge into your gameplay by significantly enhancing how debuffs function and interact within the game world. Beyond the core rework, Status+ also introduces a curated collection of 15 new items designed to complement and expand upon these revitalized status mechanics.

Revolutionizing Debuff Mechanics

Status+ fundamentally alters the way players and enemies alike contend with negative afflictions. Gone are the days of easily ignored damage-over-time effects. This mod introduces several key changes:

  • Stackable Debuffs: Most damaging status effects can now stack, with a base limit of two stacks that can be further increased by specific debuffs and items. This allows for significantly more potent and dangerous afflictions.
  • Independent Application: Each player in a multiplayer session can now apply debuffs independently, leading to more dynamic and chaotic combat scenarios.
  • Unique Stack Behavior: Stacks generally fall off independently, meaning a single application of a debuff might have a shorter duration than multiple, layered applications. However, certain powerful debuffs have unique rules for stack refresh and permanence.

Enhanced and Exclusive Debuffs

Status+ not only makes existing debuffs more impactful but also introduces new behaviors and considerations for specific afflictions:

  • Cursed Inferno & Bloodied: These debuffs now refresh their duration upon reapplication, ensuring they remain a constant threat.
  • Poison & Venom: These classic debuffs boast a base stack limit of four, allowing for a more sustained and escalating damage output.
  • Holy Flames: Experience a new dimension of combat with Holy Flames, which now feature lifesteal properties, turning enemy debuffs into a source of healing for the caster.
  • Shadow Curse: This potent debuff is permanent and features an infinite stack limit, making it a truly devastating and enduring affliction.
  • Destabilised: Similar to Shadow Curse, Destabilised also has an infinite stack limit and refreshes on application, creating a rapidly escalating and dangerous effect.

It is important to note that the implementation of these features has been achieved through unconventional methods, and while the developers have strived for stability, some bugs may exist, particularly in multiplayer environments. Furthermore, Status+ is designed to be a standalone experience and will not be compatible with damaging status effects from other mods.
