Mastering Shop Lookup

Shop Expand’s core feature, Shop Lookup, allows you to instantly discover which NPCs stock the items you need. By assigning a convenient hotkey, you can query any item in your inventory and reveal all the shops that carry it, along with their specific index. Furthermore, while conversing with an NPC, you can explore their entire inventory directly. The mod also intelligently integrates with housing lookup UIs, enabling you to click on an NPC’s designated housing slot to access their shop details. A small, adjustable button in the UI panel provides easy access to these powerful lookup tools.

The Convenience of Portable Shops

With Shop Expand, the days of needing to be in the right place at the right time to buy specific items are over. The Portable Shop feature, which can be enabled in the mod’s settings, allows you to purchase from NPC shops from virtually anywhere, provided the necessary conditions are met. Activate this feature and enjoy the ability to purchase single items with a left-click or engage in continuous purchasing with a right-click and long press directly within the UI. Key requirements for this feature include the relevant NPC being present in the world (or meeting generation conditions for non-permanent vendors like the Traveling Merchant and Skeleton Merchant), the item being available for sale, and of course, sufficient currency.

New Pylon Purchasing Options

Shop Expand also introduces a dedicated system for purchasing pylons. While the Universal Pylon remains available from the Zoologist, you can now acquire environment-specific pylons directly from vendors situated within those biomes. The mod clearly highlights any environmental prerequisites for pylon purchases, ensuring a smooth and informed buying process.
