Your journey with “Chains of Eternity” begins shortly after defeating your first boss. Head to the Dryad’s shop to acquire the foundational elements of this new combat style. From there, a dedicated crafting path awaits, culminating in the formidable “Eternity’s Grasp.” This endgame weapon requires collecting all other chain knives within the mod, along with a special binder crafted using Lunar Fragments.

“Chains of Eternity” offers a diverse array of chain-based weapons, each with distinct properties and combat applications:

• Gelbound Chainknife: Crafted early on, this knife leaves behind temporary slowing slime blobs, hindering enemy movement.
• Thornlash Chainknife: Inflicts “Pricked!”, a unique debuff that can transfer between targets and is negated by wearing the full vanilla Cactus Armor set.
• Reeftide Chainknife: While requiring a Water Bucket in your inventory (though not consuming it), this knife launches a variety of oceanic projectiles when spun.
• Razorcoil: An upgrade that inflicts Bleeding and surrounds enemies with tightening blades, delivering escalating damage.
• Devourer’s Tether: Attaches a small Corruption creature to enemies, which repeatedly bites its host before detaching.
• Kinetic Breaker: Stores charges with each enemy hit, culminating in a powerful launch attack.

Advanced Weapon Mechanics

Beyond the base functionality, several chain knives offer enhanced mechanics. “Bloodbound Chains” provides life steal proportional to damage dealt. The “Soulbinder’s Chain” can refresh invisibility effects only while actively spinning. “Eternity’s Grasp” stands as the ultimate chainknife, designed for sustained, high-damage output. While many chain knives function independently, certain types benefit from specialized Chain Catalysts for enhanced effects.
