Ascend

The Ascend mechanic mirrors its namesake from Reverse:1999, adding a layer of tactical card manipulation. Within each combat encounter, if you possess two adjacent, unupgraded cards bearing the same name and belonging to the Arcanists, you can choose to Exhaust one of them. The reward for this sacrifice? The remaining card is immediately upgraded. This encourages players to strategically manage their hands and identify opportunities to empower their decks on the fly.

Moxie

Complementing Ascend, the Moxie system offers another layer of strategic depth. As you play cards or activate the Ascend mechanic, the corresponding Arcanist gains Moxie.
