Core Mechanics: Soul, Spells, and Infection

The Vessel’s gameplay revolves around a few key mechanics that differentiate it from the base game characters.

• Soul: A crucial resource generated by non-Spell attacks, Soul is essential for casting powerful Spell cards. This mechanic encourages a dynamic turn-by-turn approach, balancing offense with resource acquisition. Soul is retained between turns, allowing for strategic planning.
• Spells: These potent abilities consume Soul but do not generate it upon use. They interact with standard combat modifiers and can trigger on-attack effects, providing a significant offensive punch when fueled correctly.
• Infection: This unique debuff functions similarly to Poison but with its own twist. Inflicting new stacks of Infection deals damage equal to the current stack count, which then decays at the end of the turn. This opens up opportunities for burst damage and sustained pressure.

The Void also plays a supporting role, subtly enhancing other archetypes. However, players must be mindful of the inherent Ethereal nature of Void cards, adding an element of risk and reward to their construction.

The Vessel begins their journey with 70 HP and 99 gold. Their starting deck comprises 4 Strikes, 4 Defends, 1 Focus, and 1 Vengeful Spirit. Accompanying them is the Broken Vessel relic, which grants 2 Soul at the start of each combat, immediately setting the stage for their unique resource management.

This mod introduces a substantial amount of new content, including 75 standard cards across common, uncommon, and rare rarities, alongside 12 exclusive relics. Three custom events further enrich the gameplay experience.

The developer, a first-time modder, has poured significant effort into creating a balanced and engaging character, even if the presentation focuses on gameplay over elaborate visuals.
