Never Miss a Key Again with Force Key for Slay the Spire

Have you ever embarked on a challenging Act 3 ascent in Slay the Spire, only to realize too late that you’ve forgotten to collect the crucial keys needed to face the Heart? The sting of lost progress due to a simple oversight can be immense. This mod is designed to eliminate that frustration, ensuring you always have the keys you need to complete your most ambitious runs.

How Force Key Works

The Force Key mod intelligently intervenes in your Slay the Spire journey to guarantee you acquire all necessary keys in Act 3. It’s designed to seamlessly integrate into your gameplay, preventing those heart-wrenching moments where a forgotten key seals the fate of hours of effort. By focusing on ensuring pathing integrity for key acquisition, this mod lets you concentrate on the strategic decisions that truly matter.

Key Features

  • Guaranteed acquisition of Act 3 keys for Heart runs.
  • Reduces the risk of run-ending oversight.
  • Enhances the reliability of your Slay the Spire endgame attempts.

Special Situations and Compatibility

While Force Key aims for universal compatibility, certain unique Slay the Spire mechanics and relics can interact with its functionality in special ways. Understanding these is key to a smooth experience:

Tiny Chest Relic

When the Tiny Chest relic is active, transforming every fourth question mark into a treasure room, the Force Key mod will not interfere with your pathing to force blue key collection. The complexity of tracking these specific interactions has been deemed too challenging for the mod’s current design.

Wing Boots and Flight Modifier

Relics like Wing Boots, which allow for path ignoring, and the custom run modifier Flight operate similarly. While efforts have been made to accommodate these, some bugs may occur. If you experience unusual pathing issues or unintended access, please consider disabling the mod or reporting the bug with a map screenshot.

Spire with Friends (Co-op)

This mod has not been tested with the co-op mod “Spire with Friends.” Due to potential conflicts, it is recommended to disable Force Key when playing in this mode to prevent crashes or unexpected pathing.

Reporting Issues and Contributing

Your feedback is invaluable! If you encounter any bugs, especially those involving pathing or crashes, please report them. For pathing issues, a screenshot of your map is highly recommended. If a crash occurs, please include the crash log, using a service like Pastebin if the log is extensive. Those interested in contributing to the mod’s development can find the project on GitHub.
