A core new mechanic revolves around “Flame Orbs,” volatile orbs that decay over time but can be strategically used to bolster your character, inflict debuffs on enemies, or empower devastating attacks. Beyond Flame Orbs, you’ll encounter several other intriguing mechanics:

• Ignite: A powerful effect that triggers if it’s the first card played in a turn, offering immediate advantages.
• Knightly: Rewards consecutive plays of Knight cards with escalating buffs, encouraging combo-based strategies.
• Smoke: A debuff that intensifies each turn, offering unique defensive and offensive opportunities through specific cards like Eclipse Veil and Right Hand Eclipse.
• Tephrosis: Introduces an element of risk and reward, where potent cards may permanently add a curse to your deck, demanding careful consideration for maximum impact.

Certain cards also interact with enemy intents, such as Holy Sol Temple, which grants gold based on the revealed damage of all enemies. This encourages thoughtful card play and timing, creating a playstyle that blends elements reminiscent of both the Ironclad and the Defect.
