At the heart of Fanny Craig’s gameplay lies the “Clues” mechanic, a resource that caps at 100 and depletes by 30% at the start of each turn. This constant ebb and flow of information management is crucial for success. As you accumulate Clues, you’ll unlock “Evidence,” temporary buffs that persist until the end of combat. These pieces of evidence are randomly granted every 20 Clues gained and offer varied combat advantages:

  • Physical Evidence: Rewards aggressive play by dealing damage to enemies after playing Attack cards.
  • Testimony: Encourages strategic Clue consumption for card advantage.
  • Motive: Grants a free card play each turn, opening up combo opportunities.
  • Crime Scene: Offers survivability by recovering health when attacked.
  • Correlation: Provides a steady stream of Clues, ensuring the mechanic remains active.

Current State and Future Promise

While still in development, the FANNY_MOD boasts a substantial collection of 83 cards and 8 custom relics, providing a solid foundation for a new journey up the Spire. The creator has noted that card art is currently represented by a placeholder image, with plans to incorporate AI-generated art, online assets, and official Slay the Spire artwork in the future. As this is the author’s first mod, there may be initial balancing quirks, but the potential for future improvements and bug fixes is present. Players are encouraged to report any issues encountered to help refine the experience.
