Prepare to embark on a new journey within the Spire with the introduction of Cartethyia, a unique and formidable character mod for Slay the Spire. This mod brings a fresh strategic layer to the game, focusing on managing your health pool and mastering a powerful trio of abilities.

Mastering the Three Authority Swords

Cartethyia’s core gameplay revolves around the “Three Authority Swords” system. Unlike other combatants, Cartethyia cannot rely on traditional Block mechanics. Instead, she boasts an impressive maximum HP and potent health regeneration, making her a resilient force. Her playstyle encourages a proactive approach, utilizing her distinct Forms to adapt to the ever-changing challenges of the Spire.

The heart of her combat prowess lies in the three Sword Shadows: the Sword of Divinity’s Shadow, the Sword of Discord’s Shadow, and the Sword of Virtue’s Shadow. Each can be brought onto the battlefield through the “Summon” action, immediately unleashing their unique on-entry effects. The Sword of Divinity’s Shadow focuses on offensive power, the Sword of Discord’s Shadow provides vital healing, and the Sword of Virtue’s Shadow enhances your card draw, ensuring you have the resources you need.

Strategic Summon and Absorb Mechanics

Beyond summoning, Cartethyia introduces the “Absorb” action. This allows you to remove a Sword Shadow from play, activating a powerful corresponding Orb. These Special Orbs offer significant, one-time boosts to your capabilities:

  • Mandate of Divinity: Grants a substantial increase to your Strength.
  • Power of Discord: Permanently raises your maximum HP.
  • Heart of Virtue: Replenishes your Energy for the turn.

Once an Orb is activated, it cannot be used again until all three Orbs have been activated and then reset. This mechanic adds a compelling layer of resource management and tactical decision-making, forcing you to carefully consider when to absorb for immediate gain versus when to maintain a Sword Shadow on the field.

Expanding Content

The Cartethyia mod enriches your Slay the Spire experience with a substantial amount of new content, including:

  • A brand-new playable character: Cartethyia.
  • Over 90 unique cards to build your deck around.
  • 11 new relics to discover and utilize.
  • 5 original events to encounter on your ascent.

While future updates are planned to introduce new enemies, potions, and even a new map called “The Triple-Crowned Tower,” the current offering provides a deep and engaging new way to play Slay the Spire.
