Apex Predator injects fresh gameplay elements into Slay the Spire, centered around two unique mechanics: Plan and Sheathe.

Plan and Strategy

The core of this mod revolves around accumulating “Plan.” By collecting a sufficient amount of Plan, you’ll trigger the potent “Strategy” effect. Strategy offers a significant advantage, reducing the cost of all cards in your hand for the current turn, drawing you two additional cards, and granting you an extra energy. Mastering the art of generating Plan is key to unlocking devastating turns.

Sheathe and Waterstop

Another exciting addition is the “Sheathe” mechanic. Your next Attack will deal significantly increased damage based on your Sheathe stacks, which can be capped. Furthermore, the “Waterstop” mechanic allows you to preserve your Sheathe stacks. When an Attack with Sheathe is played, instead of losing all Sheathe, you lose one Waterstop. This allows for sustained damage amplification across multiple attacks, rewarding careful planning and execution.

Arrow Cards

The mod also introduces “Arrow” cards. These unique cards not only draw you another card but also let you place a card from your hand back onto your draw pile. The twist? If the card you place back is also an Arrow card, it will cost 0 until it’s played, creating potent draw and combo potential.
