Master the Spire with the “Observer” and “Creator Observer” Mods

Prepare to delve deeper into the strategic challenges of Slay the Spire with two exciting new character variations: the “Observer” and the “Creator Observer.” This mod introduces a reimagined experience, focusing on refined mechanics and expanded possibilities for dedicated players.

The Observer: A Refined Challenger

The “Observer” mod presents an evolved take on the original character, meticulously tuned for the game’s increasingly complex environments. Expect enhanced versions of existing cards and relics, alongside a host of brand-new additions, including a striking borderless rare card. Key adjustments to the Observer’s mechanics include:

  • Prescience: The ability to view and discard from your entire draw pile, rather than a limited selection. This integrates seamlessly with existing Prescience-timed effects.
  • Mantra: Renamed to “Divine Will,” this mechanic now features a more nuanced progression and retreat system, influencing your stance and divinity in unique ways.
  • Card Enhancements: Several cards have seen their costs reduced or their effects amplified, offering greater flexibility and power.
  • Streamlined Deckbuilding: The Observer boasts a more concise deck size, featuring 65 cards compared to the original’s 75, promoting tighter synergies.
  • Aggressive and AoE Focus: Enhanced capabilities for multi-target attacks and damage-over-time effects.

The Observer’s card design ethos aims for potent archetypes, with white cards exceeding original archetypes, blue cards surpassing later iterations, and gold cards offering truly game-altering potential.

The Creator Observer: Architect of Fate

Introducing the “Creator Observer,” a character built around the intricate “Primordial” and “Derive” mechanics.

The core of the Creator Observer lies in its “Primordial” cards. When a Primordial card is played after its “Derive” effect has been established, it unleashes all its derived cards. Any non-playable derived cards are sent to the discard pile. Furthermore, if a derived card possesses the “Ethereal” keyword, the Primordial card inherits it, and if it’s an Ability card, it is removed from combat after being played.

The “Derive” mechanic allows you to customize Primordial cards. Through a special selection window akin to “Wish,” you can set parameters for your Primordial cards to match specific criteria within your deck. For instance, setting a Primordial card to match “1-cost Basic Attack” will cause it to randomly play a “Strike” card, which will then be removed from combat. Matching “3-cost Rare Skill” could lead to the derivation of cards like “Wish” and “Leap.” Be mindful, as applying “Ethereal” or “Ability” traits to a derived Primordial card will impose those restrictions on its play.

We welcome all bug reports and feedback to help refine these new Slay the Spire experiences.
