Zolaar’s Star Wars: The Gungans

Explore the Depths with the Gungan Civilization Mod for Civilization VI

Dive into a unique aquatic experience in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI with this comprehensive mod introducing the Gungans as a playable civilization. This modification brings a distinct playstyle centered around naval dominance and amphibious capabilities, offering a fresh challenge for seasoned players. Prepare to reshape the world’s oceans and coastlines as you lead the Gungans from their watery homeland to galactic renown.

Gungan Uniqueness and Abilities

The Gungan civilization boasts several key features that set them apart:

* **Amphibious Sentients:** All Gungan units possess inherent embark and disembark abilities from the start, without penalty. They can freely traverse Ocean tiles and even engage in combat while embarked, making them formidable sea-faring warriors. However, their Settlers are restricted to water movement, emphasizing their aquatic nature.
* **Gungan Sacred Place:** A unique improvement for the Military Engineer, the Sacred Place has a transformative effect on adjacent tiles, turning them into Grass Jungle or Grass Hills Jungle. This infrastructure also allows for instant unit teleportation between any Sacred Place and a Gungan city. Units stationed at a Sacred Place gain a defensive strength bonus and automatically fortify for two turns.

Leader: Boss Nass and Civilizational Traits

Lead the Gungans as the charismatic Boss Nass, whose leadership brings forth the “Gungan Engineering” ability. This trait dictates that all Gungan cities must be settled on Ocean or Coast tiles, which are then transformed into enriched Gungan Terrain. These cities are naturally protected from Flooding and gain the ability to construct the Fishery improvement. While most districts are confined to Coast tiles, all Gungan units possess the unique ability to convert Ocean into Coast, expanding their habitable territory. Cities benefit from increased housing, though certain districts and buildings like Aqueducts, Canals, Dams, Water Mills, and Sewers are unavailable.

New Resources and Features

Beyond the Gungans themselves, the mod introduces exciting new elements to the game:

* **Goo Plasma:** A new water Strategic Resource that can be improved with Fishing Boats. Goo Plasma grants bonuses to Faith, Gold, and Science. Through research and a special project, it can be converted into any other resource in the game.
* **Naboo Flora:** A new water Feature that can be improved with Fisheries, providing bonuses to Food and Production. This feature can be removed upon researching the Mining technology.

This mod requires the Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm expansions, along with the Ethiopia Pack and the Vietnam & Kublai Khan Pack. For an enhanced oceanic experience, the use of Sukritact’s Oceans mod is highly recommended.
