Yun Tal and Qiyana Arrive in Civilization VI

Prepare for a new strategic challenge in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI with the introduction of the Yun Tal civilization, led by the formidable Qiyana. This mod brings a fresh dynamic to the game, offering unique abilities and units designed to reshape your approach to conquest and expansion.

Civilization and Leader Abilities

The Yun Tal boast the “Unknown Frontier” ability, granting them immediate access to crucial early civics: “Early Empire” and “Military Tradition.” This head start allows for accelerated development and a more robust early military. Furthermore, enemy military units face a disadvantage, receiving -3 Combat Strength when attacking Yun Tal territory, making your borders a tough nut to crack.

Qiyana’s leadership is defined by “Elemental Magic.” This powerful ability rewards strategic city placement, providing +3 Population the very first time a city is founded on a specific terrain type. Depending on the terrain of your City Center, you’ll also receive unique, context-sensitive bonuses, encouraging diverse and tactical settlement.

Unique District: The High Seat

Replacing the standard Aqueduct, the Yun Tal’s “High Seat” district is a game-changer. Available from the outset and cheaper to construct, it effectively brings vital resources to your cities.

  • Channels water from adjacent Rivers, Oases, Lakes, or Mountains to provide Fresh Water.
  • Offers up to 6 Housing for cities lacking Fresh Water, and +2 Housing for those that already have it.
  • Grants +4 Loyalty per turn, bolstering your cities’ stability.
  • Domestic Trade Routes directed to a city with a High Seat yield significant bonuses: +3 Food, +1 Production, and +2 Culture.
  • Must be built adjacent to the City Center on a land tile.
  • Military Engineers can utilize a charge to instantly complete 20% of the district’s production cost.

Unique Unit: Patrol Squad

The Yun Tal also introduce the “Patrol Squad,” an Ancient Era melee unit unlocked via the Astrology technology. This versatile unit can be purchased with both Gold and Faith. Its distinctive ability allows for territorial expansion during combat: when a Patrol Squad defeats an enemy unit within Yun Tal borders, the tile where the engagement occurred is claimed by the nearest Yun Tal city, and you are rewarded with Gold.

This mod offers a compelling new way to play Civilization VI, emphasizing early development, territorial control, and strategic settlement.
