Wuthering Waves Civilization Pack: Black Shores
Embark on a new journey in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI with the Wuthering Waves Civilization Pack, introducing the enigmatic Black Shores civilization. This extensive mod delves into unique mechanics, offering a fresh strategic experience for players seeking a distinct playstyle. Discover the power of disaster-stricken lands and master a novel resource system to forge your empire.
The Black Shores: A Resilient Civilization
The Black Shores possess a unique affinity for managing and benefiting from calamity. Their civilization ability, “Singularity for Observing the Lament,” marks tiles affected by disasters, granting coastal and littoral tiles increased yields in Science and Culture, respectively. More importantly, disaster-stricken tiles themselves offer a significant Production bonus. Cities founded on these tiles thrive, receiving boosted overall yields and additional Housing, making them resilient hubs of growth. Furthermore, the Black Shores are shielded from denouncement by other civilizations, allowing them to pursue their unique path without immediate diplomatic repercussions.
Leaders: ShoreKeeper and Camellya
This pack features two distinct leaders, each with their own compelling abilities. ShoreKeeper, under the “Astral Modulation” theme, introduces “Calculation Points.” This unique resource, generated from per-turn Science, can be spent on a variety of actions including accelerating technology, finishing production, unit teleportation, and combat assistance. ShoreKeeper’s influence extends to their capital, radiating yields to cities with the unique Tethys district, and allowing for the training of special units and the initiation of unique projects.
Camellya, known as “The Breeder,” offers a more aggressive and unconventional approach. Her “Sanguine Blossom” ability allows units to ignore movement penalties on plant-type terrain, and critically, enables a chance to recruit defeated enemy units as “Bloom Bearers.” This leader also bypasses War Weariness, turning conflict into Amenities. Camellya can switch between “Budding Mode,” enhancing Production and Culture from plant resources, and “Blossom Mode,” granting increased combat prowess at the cost of defense, with a potent ability to recruit attackers upon defeat.
Unique Elements of the Black Shores:
- Tethys District: A unique water-based district that replaces the Campus, offering Production bonuses to coastal tiles and triggering a Culture Bomb upon completion.
- Stellar Matrix: Replaces the University, converting a portion of the Tethys district’s Science output into Production bonuses for adjacent tiles and districts.
- Bloom Bearer: A unique unit with a distinct promotion tree, capable of ranged attacks and gaining strength with each era.
- Expo Vessel: A specialized naval unit designed for deep ocean exploration, offering Gold and Experience bonuses in friendly territory.
- Ku-roro: A unique starting unit with the ability to capture barbarian units and potentially convert them into Builders or Settlers.
- TD Observatory: A unique improvement that can copy tile yields to the capital and provides territorial bonuses, especially to disaster-stricken tiles.
- Modulation Project: A special project for the Tethys district that yields significant Science and Culture, alongside Great Person points, while also manipulating disaster-stricken tiles within the city.
