Terra Mirabilis: Reimagining Natural Wonders in Civilization VI
Prepare to experience the world of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI in a whole new way with the Terra Mirabilis mod. This comprehensive overhaul breathes new life into the game’s Natural Wonders, transforming them from passive geographical features into dynamic elements that significantly impact your empire’s growth and strategy.
A World Richer with Wonders
Terra Mirabilis doesn’t just tweak existing wonders; it introduces twenty new awe-inspiring Natural Wonders, including many fan-favorite inclusions from past iterations of Civilization. These additions ensure that every game map feels fresh and full of discovery, offering new strategic opportunities and visual splendor.
Enhanced Gameplay Mechanics
The mod significantly expands the role of Natural Wonders by implementing several key changes:
- Unique Ownership Effects: Claiming a Natural Wonder now grants your empire distinct bonuses. These effects can influence your immediate city, the units you produce, or your entire civilization, adding a new layer of strategic decision-making.
- Rebalanced Yields: To complement the new ownership effects, the base yields of Natural Wonders have been adjusted. Most wonders now provide significant yields on their own tiles, while impassable wonders offer bonuses to adjacent tiles. Gathering Storm players will find volcanic wonders have their adjacent yields capped to prevent excessive stacking.
- District Adjacency: Natural Wonders now provide adjacency bonuses to specialty districts, encouraging their placement nearby and rewarding thoughtful city planning. These bonuses increase as buildings are constructed within the districts.
- National Park Impact: National Parks have been rebalanced to generate Gold equal to their Tourism output, making them a more potent tool for cultural victories.
Increased Discovery and Accessibility
Terra Mirabilis aims to make Natural Wonders more prevalent and rewarding to find. The distance between wonders has been reduced, and the spawn rate has been doubled across all map sizes, increasing the likelihood of encountering these valuable landmarks. Furthermore, the experience points awarded for discovering a Natural Wonder have been increased, making early exploration more beneficial.
Customization and Compatibility
Understanding that players have diverse preferences, Terra Mirabilis offers extensive user settings, allowing you to customize or even disable individual wonders and effects. The mod is designed to be compatible with all Civilization VI expansions and DLC, and works well with most other mods, though those that heavily alter Natural Wonders may present conflicts. Gedemon’s YNAMP is supported, ensuring TSL (True Start Location) compatibility for many maps.
