A Legendary Leader Emerges

Vercingetorix, hailed as France’s first national hero, was the chieftain who famously united the Gallic tribes against the might of the Roman Republic. Now, his strategic genius and unwavering resolve are brought to life within Civilization VI. This mod allows you to embody Vercingetorix and lead your people to glory, drawing upon ancient Gallic traditions and warfare.

Gallic Might and Ingenuity

The Gallic civilization, under Vercingetorix’s leadership, boasts unique abilities and units designed to overwhelm opponents and secure strategic territory.

• Torcs and Carnyxes (Unique Ability): Cities built upon mineable resources grant yield bonuses to adjacent tiles, creating interconnected economic powerhouses. Encampments and Commercial Hubs adjacent to these resources receive significant boosts to Production, Housing, Gold, and Amenities.
• Oathsworn (Unique Unit): Replacing the Swordsman, the Oathsworn is a powerful Classical Era unit that excels in rough terrain, gaining combat strength bonuses in Hills and Woods. Furthermore, fallen Oathsworn provide vital healing to nearby friendly units, turning the tide of battle.
• Dunon (Unique Improvement): This defensive structure, built on Camp or Pasture resources, offers increased Food and Housing. When constructed on a Hill, it provides an additional Production bonus. Occupying units benefit from enhanced Defense Strength and an automatic fortification bonus, making your settlements resilient strongholds.

Vercingetorix’s Strategic Acumen

Vercingetorix himself brings a unique set of leader abilities to the game, emphasizing diplomatic influence and military preparedness. His “Gallic Confederation” ability grants combat strength bonuses based on your alliances with city-states, rewarding strong diplomatic ties. Additionally, he receives a free Envoy when recruiting a Great General, and the construction of Encampments or Dūnons provides immediate Ancient Walls, bolstering your city defenses from the outset. His agenda, “King Over Warriors,” favors civilizations with robust armies, but he frowns upon those who engage in aggressive conquest.
