A Civilization Rooted in Tradition

For players without the DLC, the mod provides a fully realized custom civilization, ensuring that the legacy of Ethiopia and Zara Yaqob can be experienced by all.

Key Features of the Ethiopia Mod:

  • Solomonic Dynasty (Civilization Ability): Purchase Settlers, Builders, and Traders using Faith. Gain bonus Faith from City Centers and Holy Sites built on Hills.
  • Shotelai (Unique Unit): A formidable Medieval era replacement for the Pikeman, excelling in combat against melee units and gaining experience rapidly, especially when garrisoned in cities or the Capital.
  • Rock-Hewn Church (Unique Building): This replacement for the Temple is crucial for training Apostles and Inquisitors with Faith, and provides significant Production bonuses, which are amplified by adjacent Worship Buildings.
  • Council of Debre Mitmaq (Leader Ability): Zara Yaqob grants extra Wildcard policy slots based on the number of Holy Site districts you possess, encouraging a strong religious focus.
  • Book of Light (Agenda): Zara Yaqob favors civilizations from different continents that share his faith but is wary of those on his home continent with differing religions.
