Discover the Québec Civilization Pack for Sid Meier’s Civilization VI

Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of La Belle Province with the Québec Civilization Pack, a fan-made mod for Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. This comprehensive addition introduces the vibrant civilization of Québec, led by the renowned explorer Samuel de Champlain, offering a unique gameplay experience rooted in strategic adaptation and cultural resilience.

A Civilization Forged in the North

The Québec civilization boasts the unique ability “Mon Pays,” a nod to its cultural identity. This trait significantly enhances your ability to thrive in colder climates, allowing Farms to be constructed on Tundra terrain even before advanced technologies. Upon unlocking Civil Engineering, the benefits extend to Tundra Hills. Furthermore, tiles in Snow, Tundra, Snow Hills, and Tundra Hills become incredibly productive, granting substantial bonuses to Mines, Lumber Mills, Camps, and Farms, alongside a boosted strategic resource accumulation rate. These frigid terrains also yield bonus Culture, encouraging expansion into previously challenging environments.

The “Coureur des bois” trait ensures your recon units are always prepared, starting with the valuable Ranger promotion, granting them enhanced mobility and combat effectiveness from the outset.

Unique Units and Improvements

The Industrial era sees the introduction of the unique Québécois unit: the Patriot Militia. Replacing the Line Infantry, this unit is more cost-effective to produce and gains a significant combat bonus when defending friendly territory. Notably, it can also be recruited using Faith, offering an alternative strategic path to bolstering your military strength.

While not entirely unique, the Ice Hockey Rink improvement offers a familiar yet beneficial addition to your cities, reflecting a beloved aspect of Québécois culture.

Leader: Samuel de Champlain

Lead your civilization with Samuel de Champlain, whose traits encourage diplomatic and developmental strategies. “Champlain’s Dream” restricts declarations of war on City-States within the same continent, fostering peaceful relations. This trait also provides lucrative bonuses to trade routes with City-States, further enhanced when you hold suzerainty, and reduces the cost of levying their armies. Complementing this, the “Filles du Roy” trait stimulates early population growth in your cities, ensuring a strong foundation for expansion before the Industrial Era.

Dark Age Policies

Navigate the challenging Dark Ages with two distinct policy options: “La Survivance” offers loyalty bonuses to cities following your state religion but imposes penalties on Science and Culture output. Alternatively, “Quiet Revolution” provides a substantial Production boost towards Campuses and their buildings, at the cost of reduced Faith generation and the inability to train religious units.

This mod is currently in Early Access and represents a work in progress, with ongoing development to refine features, add custom assets, and complete diplomatic interactions. Dive into a new strategic challenge with the Québec Civilization Pack for Sid Meier’s Civilization VI!
