A New Ruler Arrives in Civilization VI: Introducing Queen Candidate Only One

Prepare for a unique strategic challenge in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI with the “Only One” leader mod. This new addition introduces Queen Candidate Only One, a formidable leader who brings a distinct playstyle focused on rapid territorial expansion and faith-based power. Developed as the 36th mod by its creator, this package offers a fresh experience for seasoned players looking to shake up their conquest strategies.

Leader Ability: The One

Queen Candidate Only One’s signature ability, “The One,” is designed to accelerate your empire’s growth in surprising ways. Upon founding a new city, an impressive bonus is granted: all unowned tiles within a three-tile radius are immediately claimed for your burgeoning empire. This allows for swift and aggressive settlement, securing valuable territory before rivals can even consider it.

However, this power comes with a significant limitation: you cannot train Settlers. This restriction forces players to rely solely on the immediate tile-claiming mechanic and other expansion methods, demanding careful planning and opportunistic expansion.

Further enhancing her aggressive potential, “The One” ability offers two ways to seize land and boost your empire’s strength:

* **Combat Victory:** Upon defeating an enemy unit, you can claim an adjacent tile belonging to another empire.
* **Faith Conversion:** By spending 250 Faith (usable once per turn), you can also claim an adjacent tile.

Claiming tiles through these methods not only expands your borders but also provides a tangible benefit: a 1% increase to all yields from your cities for each tile claimed. If a claimed tile is part of an enemy city, the entire city is instantly annexed by your empire, and all your units receive a +2 Combat Strength bonus, making for decisive military victories.

Queen Candidate Bonuses

Beyond her direct territorial control, Queen Candidate Only One benefits from successful city conversions. For each city that adopts your dominant religion, your Capital gains an additional population point. Furthermore, the Faith generated per population in your Capital City increases by an extra 0.2, creating a powerful synergy between religious spread and economic growth.

This mod introduces the “Pilgrims” civilization, whose specific abilities are detailed in the creator’s previous work. Players eager to explore the full potential of this new leader will find a wealth of new strategic possibilities, demanding both careful faith management and bold territorial claims.
