This mod brings Empress Carlota of Mexico into the fray, offering a unique playstyle focused on diplomacy, influence, and exploiting the ebb and flow of the Ages. Prepare to forge your path to victory through shrewd statecraft and strategic expansion.

The Empress’s Approach to Power

Empress Carlota’s abilities are designed to reward proactive engagement with the world. Her unique leader trait, “Miramare Appeals,” grants immediate benefits upon first contact with other civilizations, fostering early relationships and setting the stage for diplomatic dominance. Furthermore, her connection to City-States is significantly amplified, providing bonus Faith based on her Envoy presence, with this bonus dramatically increasing during Golden and Dark Ages. This encourages a dynamic playstyle where you must adapt your strategy to the current Age, capitalizing on periods of stability or turmoil to further your goals.

An Agenda of Uniting the Realm

Carlota’s agenda, “Empress of Farewells,” paints a picture of a leader keen on forging alliances and fostering goodwill. She favors civilizations that share her governmental style and readily accept her delegations, particularly when she finds herself navigating the challenges of a Dark Age. This provides clear, albeit sometimes challenging, objectives that guide your interactions and can lead to powerful, lasting friendships or strategic opportunities for leverage.
