Merrick’s Hittites

Unearth the Might of the Hittites in Civilization VI

Prepare to rewrite ancient history in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI with the introduction of the Hittites, a formidable civilization led by the ambitious Suppiluliuma I. This mod plunges you into an era of grand conflict and strategic maneuvering, where the Hittites rose to challenge established powers and carve out their own dominion.

Masters of Diplomacy and Dominion

The Hittite civilization excels in the art of diplomacy, skillfully weaving a web of influence over city-states. As their Suzerain, you’ll find yourself rewarded with substantial yield bonuses, with each city-state type you control granting a +10% boost to the corresponding yield in all your cities. This diplomatic prowess is further amplified by a staggering +100% bonus to Diplomatic Favor generated from city-state suzerainty and alliance levels. When diplomacy falters, however, the Hittites are prepared. Their unique building, the Royal Archives, grants Influence Points when constructed in a Capital and generates valuable Science for every delegation or embassy established in a foreign civilization.

The Ansukurra: A Steed of Steel

When diplomacy fails and conflict is inevitable, the Hittites unleash their fearsome Ansukurra. This unique unit, replacing the Heavy Chariot, boasts superior Combat Strength and an unparalleled advantage on hilly terrain, ignoring movement penalties. While more costly to produce, the Ansukurra’s ability to ignore hill movement costs and its double support bonus make it a terrifying force in the early game, especially when deployed in large numbers.

Suppiluliuma I: The Oath-Bound Leader

Suppiluliuma I, the Hittite leader, embodies a unique blend of military might and statesman-like resolve. His abilities empower your empire through conquest, providing a significant bonus to Production and Faith in all cities for ten turns after capturing an enemy city. Occupied cities also exert increased loyalty pressure, making them easier to hold and integrate. Furthermore, Suppiluliuma I’s unique diplomatic lens influences his interactions, favoring civilizations that forge alliances and befriend city-states, while frowning upon those who engage in surprise wars and eschew diplomatic bonds.

This comprehensive mod also introduces a celestial bonus: exploring the land may reveal fallen meteor sites, offering additional rewards and even a Tribal Village bonus, adding another layer of strategic exploration and resource acquisition to your Civilization VI gameplay.
