Greenhouse Improvement
Transforming Barren Lands in Civilization VI with Greenhouse Improvement
Unlock the Potential of Harsh Terrain
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm introduces a new layer of strategic depth, and this mod, Greenhouse Improvement, significantly enhances the usability of previously challenging terrains. For players who have found desert, tundra, and snow tiles to be little more than obstacles, the Greenhouse offers a revolutionary solution, turning these inhospitable landscapes into valuable assets for your burgeoning empire.
Introducing the Greenhouse Improvement
The Greenhouse is a new tile improvement that can be constructed by a Builder once you’ve researched the Sanitation technology. Its primary purpose is to bring much-needed Food yields to tiles that historically offered very little, if any. This allows for greater flexibility in city placement and expansion, as you are no longer as restricted by the quality of the land.
Key Features and Bonuses
The Greenhouse provides significant benefits, especially in the early to mid-game:
- Provides a base +2 Food yield.
- Available after researching Sanitation.
- Can be built on flat Desert, Tundra, and Snow tiles.
- Constructed by the Builder unit.
Advanced Benefits with Satellite Technology
As your empire progresses and you research the Satellites technology, the Greenhouse evolves to become even more potent, offering advanced strategic advantages:
- Receives an additional +1 Production yield.
- Provides +2 Power.
A remarkable aspect of this mod is that existing Greenhouses automatically update visually to their “Solar Greenhouse” form once Satellites are researched. There’s no need to demolish and rebuild your improvements; they seamlessly upgrade, reflecting your technological advancements.
Visual and Functional Enhancements
Beyond its gameplay impact, the Greenhouse Improvement mod also boasts a suite of custom assets. This includes unique 3D models and materials for the improvement itself, a distinct Builder icon, new technology icons, and an integrated Civilopedia entry, ensuring a polished and immersive experience within Sid Meier’s Civilization VI.
