Gedemo Guarani
Forge a New Path with the Gedemo Guarani Civilization in Civilization VI
Expand the horizons of your Sid Meier’s Civilization VI empire with the Gedemo Guarani mod, introducing the influential Guarani civilization led by the indomitable Sepe Tiaraju. This comprehensive mod brings a unique playstyle focused on faith, expansion, and territorial control, offering a fresh challenge for seasoned players.
Sepe Tiaraju’s Devotion and Strategy
As Sepe Tiaraju, your faith generation receives a significant boost, soaring to 100% when engaged in warfare with other major civilizations. This fervent devotion not only fuels your spiritual pursuits but also allows for the faith-based purchase of Recon units, enhancing your scouting and early-game maneuverability. Furthermore, cities blessed with a Holy Site gain a crucial +3 Combat Strength bonus, making your religiously significant locations formidable defensive strongholds. The natural world also plays into your hands, with Rainforests providing their standard adjacency bonus to Holy Sites, encouraging strategic placement and harmonious integration with the environment.
The Guarani’s ‘Land Without Evil’ Philosophy
The Guarani’s core civilization trait, ‘Land without Evil,’ fundamentally shapes your expansionist strategy. New cities founded more than 8 tiles away from your capital receive immediate benefits: +1 Population, a substantial +5 Loyalty per turn, a 10% increase to all yields, and a complimentary Builder. This encourages rapid, far-flung colonization. Conversely, cities settled too close to the capital (less than 8 tiles) face a penalty of -15% to all yields, subtly discouraging over-centralization and rewarding a dispersed empire.
Unique Units and Improvements
The Guarani introduce the ‘Caaigua,’ a unique unit that replaces the Skirmisher. Unlocked earlier with Military Training, the Caaigua boasts superior Ranged Strength (40 vs. 30) and the ability to exert Zone of Control. Its mobility is also enhanced, allowing it to move after attacking and providing faster movement through Woods and Jungle terrain.
The ‘Reduction’ serves as the Guarani’s unique improvement, available upon researching Theology. Each city can construct one Reduction, offering significant benefits: +5 Loyalty when adjacent to the city and +2 Housing. It also provides +2 Faith and +1 Production, with these yields further boosted by adjacency to Plantations. For religious units, the Reduction offers a welcome +15 HP healing each turn. With the discovery of Colonialism, an additional point of Housing is granted.
