[Fate]Ramesses II of Egypt (Multiple player compatibility unknown)
Egypt Rises Anew with the Ramesses II Mod for Civilization VI
Prepare to experience a new facet of ancient power in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI with the introduction of the Ramesses II (Ozymandias) mod. This ambitious modification brings the legendary Egyptian pharaoh to the forefront, offering a unique playstyle that blends historical reverence with a touch of the fantastical. While still in its beta phase, this mod promises a captivating addition for players eager to explore fresh strategic avenues.
The Legacy of Ramesses II
This mod reimagines Ramesses II not as the purely historical figure, but as an inspired interpretation, drawing from a rich tapestry of legend. This allows for distinct abilities and bonuses that set him apart from other leaders in Civilization VI. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, this mod offers a compelling reason to revisit the sands of Egypt.
Unveiling Egyptian Might
The mod introduces several significant changes and additions to the Egyptian civilization, centered around Ramesses II himself.
- Ramesseum Tentyris (Leader Ability): Cities founded under Ramesses II will benefit from a free first Wonder, built in a single turn. Additionally, cities possessing the “Pyramids” wonder gain a considerable boost to ranged strength, while the production of Settlers and Builders is slightly reduced, encouraging a different approach to expansion.
- Great Temple (Unique District): This powerful district, which does not replace any existing structures, offers a wealth of yields. It generates Faith based on adjacent Desert tiles, Culture from adjacent Wonders, and Production from adjacent Sphinx improvements. Furthermore, it provides valuable amenities and appeal, enhancing city life and growth.
- Mesektet (Unique Unit): Replacing the Catapult and unlocked with the “Ship Building” technology, the Mesektet is a unique ranged unit with a twist. While costing slightly more production, it boasts increased movement and the ability to ignore terrain penalties during movement. Crucially, enemy units adjacent to the Mesektet suffer a reduction in their movement, offering significant tactical advantages in combat.
- God King (Agenda): Ramesses II’s agenda favors civilizations that maintain a strong military presence and cultivate numerous Great Persons, while showing disdain for those with weaker armies. This encourages players to focus on military might and intellectual pursuits to maintain favor.
This mod is currently available with support for both English and Simplified Chinese. The developers are actively seeking feedback and bug reports to refine the experience, making it a community-driven effort to enhance your Civilization VI gameplay.
