New Unit Types: Operators
The core of this expansion lies in the introduction of “Operators,” a special class of units that can be acquired through dedicated city projects. These Operators come in two distinct tiers, each offering unique progression paths and strategic advantages.
Operator Tiers and Progression
- Backup Operators: These units offer a single promotion, granting a significant, albeit temporary, boost before they are removed from play.
- Senior Operators: More resilient and versatile, Senior Operators can be promoted up to three times. Unlike their Backup counterparts, they do not disappear upon promotion. Experience for these promotions is gained by acquiring duplicate Senior Operators, allowing for the gradual strengthening of your most elite units.
The current roster of featured Senior Operators includes iconic characters such as Angelina, Eyjafjalla, SilverAsh, Skadi, Magellan, Saria, Chen, and Firewatch, with the promise of more intriguing additions in future updates.
Acquiring Operators: Special Projects
To recruit these specialized units, you’ll need to invest in a new resource: “Originiums.” These can be obtained through various in-game means and are essential for initiating the Operator recruitment projects within your city center. Two distinct project options are available:
- Recruit Operator: For a cost of 20 Originiums, you can attempt to recruit a random Operator. There’s a 10% chance you’ll acquire a valuable Senior Operator with this method.
- Recruit Senior Operator: This premium option costs 200 Originiums and guarantees the acquisition of a Senior Operator. While more resource-intensive, it ensures you gain a high-tier unit, perfect for bolstering your defenses or spearheading your offensives.
