The Pond OceanTree mod introduces a fascinating new layer of ecological possibility, allowing the unique OceanTree to take root in a wider variety of water bodies and bringing with it a host of transformative effects.

Oasis Overhaul

For those who frequent the arid landscapes, the oasis biome now becomes a prime location for OceanTree cultivation. This mod ensures that oases will never dry out, providing a consistent water source year-round, even in the harshest summers. When an OceanTree matures within an oasis, it blesses the area with a protective circle of fig vines, acting as a natural curtain. Furthermore, mature OceanTrees in oases offer the chance to catch an extra sweetfish, adding to your survival resources.

Expanded Ponds and New Life

The humble pond receives a significant upgrade, becoming expandable via shovel. Once enlarged, these ponds can host OceanTrees, preventing them from freezing during winter. Mature OceanTrees in ponds provide an additional small sweetfish catch. Perhaps the most exciting addition is the Fiog, a passive, plump creature that replaces the standard frog in ponds with mature OceanTrees. Fiogs drop valuable resources like frog legs and figs, and even have a chance to yield a fig and frog leg sandwich, making previously barren pond areas a viable source of sustenance and life.

Hot Springs and Beyond

Even hot springs are brought into the fold. Both standard and UM hot springs can now accommodate OceanTrees, with the former being expandable via shovel. While current implementations for hot springs may not offer unique ecological impacts, the potential for their integration remains. Additionally, players can now construct their own “Legion Ponds,” offering complete control over where these new aquatic wonders can be established.
