This iteration of Gollum predates his encounters with hobbits, focusing instead on his primal instincts and deep-seated connection to his ring. He possesses a unique set of stats designed to reflect his decades spent in darkness and his singular obsession.

He cannot willingly part with it, meaning it cannot be dropped, stored in chests, or placed in backpacks. Only death can separate him from its power, and upon revival, he suffers a sanity penalty until he is reunited with his precious.
Dietary Peculiarities and Survival Skills
Gollum’s time in the deep has warped his palate and honed his survival skills. He thrives on meat, showing no penalty for consuming monster meat and even gaining sanity from raw varieties. Fish, however, is his true delicacy, providing substantial hunger, health, and sanity boosts. Fruits and vegetables, conversely, will only serve to drive him mad, inflicting a sanity penalty. His “clamped stomach” means his hunger depletes 20% slower, and his nocturnal adaptations halve his sanity drain during the night.
The Double-Edged Sword of the Ring
The “mystery ring” grants Gollum remarkable abilities. While worn, he becomes invisible to most creatures, allowing for stealthy escapes and item acquisition. However, this invisibility comes at a steep cost. Gollum cannot attack while the ring is active, and its corrupting influence causes him to rapidly lose sanity and experience disturbing hallucinations, further narrowing his field of vision. Beware, as certain powerful foes and periodic hound attacks can still detect him.
