Master the Frontier: Introducing the Fast Travel Mod for Don’t Starve Together
The vast and unforgiving wilderness of Don’t Starve Together presents a constant challenge, and traversing its sprawling landscapes can consume precious time and resources. Now, imagine a world where those lengthy journeys are a thing of the past. The Fast Travel mod introduces a revolutionary network of home signs, allowing you to teleport instantly between your established outposts. Say goodbye to tedious treks and hello to efficient exploration and resource management.
Effortless Navigation, Strategic Cost
Setting up your personal fast travel system is as simple as placing home signs. To initiate travel, a quick right-click on a chosen home sign sets your destination. Repeated clicks cycle through all accessible signs, allowing you to pinpoint your desired location. Once selected, simply remain near the sign to embark on your instantaneous journey. This convenience comes at a strategic cost, mirroring the demands of regular travel. Both hunger and sanity will be depleted, with the exact amount directly proportional to the distance covered. This cost is clearly displayed upon destination selection, allowing for informed travel choices. Furthermore, the harsh conditions of summer slightly reduce sanity costs, while the biting cold of winter increases them.
Key Features for the Savvy Survivor:
- Instantaneous travel between placed home signs.
- Travel costs hunger and sanity, configurable and displayed upfront.
- Summer travel offers a sanity cost reduction.
- Winter travel incurs a sanity cost increase.
- Group travel functionality for coordinated expeditions.
- Configurable ownership restrictions when used with compatible mods.
- Travel cancellations through simple disengagement from the sign.
Seamless Group Journeys and Travel Restrictions
Coordinating your survival efforts with friends is also streamlined. To facilitate group travel, each member should right-click the same home sign once. The last player to interact then selects the destination, and the entire group can then travel together by staying near the sign. Should you need to cancel an impending journey, simply move away from the home sign; your travel will be aborted after a brief 15-second delay. The mod also incorporates intelligent restrictions to prevent abuse and ensure a balanced experience. You cannot travel if the destination sign is destroyed, if your character is deceased or a ghost, if you are currently in combat or danger, or if your hunger or sanity levels are insufficient. These measures ensure that fast travel remains a strategic tool, not a cheat.
