Extended Indicators WIP
Never Lose Track of Your Companions in Don’t Starve Together
The wilderness of Don’t Starve Together is vast and unforgiving. While cooperation is key to survival, it’s all too easy to become separated from your fellow survivors, especially in the sprawling maps. The Extended Indicators mod aims to solve this problem, ensuring you always know the whereabouts of your allies.
Stay Connected, Stay Alive
This essential mod introduces a helpful player icon that appears on your Heads-Up Display (HUD). This icon will consistently point towards the direction of your teammates, regardless of how far they’ve roamed. No more aimless wandering or worrying about whether someone has wandered into danger alone. With Extended Indicators, you’ll always have a visual cue guiding you back to your group or allowing you to coordinate rescues.
Customizable and Evolving
Understanding that every player has different needs, the Extended Indicators mod offers a range of configuration options. These allow you to tailor the mod to your specific gameplay style. You can:
- Enable or disable the indicators entirely.
- Adjust the size of the player icons on your HUD.
- Set the maximum range at which the indicators will remain visible.
The developer is actively working on expanding the mod’s functionality. Future updates are planned to include features like displaying player icons directly on the in-game map, introducing a craftable “scanner” item for a more immersive discovery experience, and options for displaying player distances.
Current Limitations and Future Development
It’s important to note that this mod is currently in a Work-In-Progress (WIP) state. As of now, the indicators function primarily for the host of a server. The developer is diligently working on resolving issues to ensure seamless functionality for all players, whether they are hosting or joining a game. Your feedback and suggestions are invaluable in this development process, so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts.
