This mod introduces an innovative food preservation system that applies to all inventory items tagged as “backpack.” This includes the base backpack, the Krampus Sack, Piggyback, Thermal Blanket, Chef Pouch, Sugar Rush, and many other modded containers. Each of these can be individually configured for their preservation settings, or if you’re using multiple modded backpacks, they can share a single set of “MOD backpack” settings. You have three distinct preservation options:

• Revive Freshness: Food items will gradually regain freshness over time, eventually returning to their full, unspoiled state.
• Permanent Preservation: Food will cease to decay entirely, maintaining its current freshness level indefinitely.
• Slow Decay: Food will still degrade, but at a significantly reduced rate, giving you much more time to use it.

A smart prioritization system ensures that if a modded backpack already possesses its own preservation capabilities, those settings will take precedence.

Repair While You Explore

Beyond preserving your food, this mod also offers a unique gear-repair function. When enabled, tools, weapons, armor, and clothing placed in the final few slots of your backpack will slowly regenerate their durability as you journey through the world. This means your most crucial items will be in better condition for longer, reducing the need for constant crafting and resource gathering for repairs.

Infinite Inventory Expansion

For those who find themselves constantly juggling limited inventory space, the “Stacking Upgrade” feature is a dream come true. By utilizing a special “Elastic Space Fabricator” item, you can upgrade your backpacks to possess infinite stacking capabilities. These upgraded backpacks will be visibly marked with an “Infinite” suffix. To prevent conflicts and ensure stability, if another modded infinite stacking mod is detected, this feature will only apply the visual name upgrade, preserving your existing setup.
