Introducing Weslie: The Woolly Wanderer of Don’t Starve Together
Prepare to meet a new, unlikely survivor in the harsh world of Don’t Starve Together! Weslie, a charming little sheep hailing from another world, has found themselves stranded on the Constant. With no immediate way back home, Weslie is determined to make the best of their predicament, even if they suspect a shared initial for all companions is the strange reason for their arrival.
Weslie brings a unique set of skills and challenges to the game, offering a fresh experience for players seeking a different playstyle. Their story is one of resilience and a touch of misfortune, as they navigate the dangers of this unfamiliar land.
Starting Strong
Upon entering the world, Weslie comes equipped with a small but useful starting inventory:
- 2 Blue Gems
- 2 Papyrus
- 2 Roasted Vegetable Skewers
Core Attributes and Customization
Weslie boasts a balanced base set of stats, making them adaptable to various situations:
- Hunger: 150
- Sanity: 200
- Health: 150
- Attack Multiplier: 1x
For those who like to fine-tune their experience, Weslie’s stats can be adjusted within a configurable range, allowing for customizable health (150, 200, 250, 300) and attack multiplier (0.8x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x).
Unique Passive Abilities
Weslie’s survival is enhanced by several distinct passive traits:
Heart of Protection
This ability provides a sanity regeneration aura of 10 points within a 4-tile radius, benefiting nearby allies. However, this protective aura comes with conditions. Chopping trees will disable it, instead causing a sanity drain of 4 points per minute, and the chance for Treeguards to spawn increases by 30%. Similarly, attacking certain creatures like Beefalo, Volt Goats, Bunnymen, Rock Lobsters, and Pigmen will also disable the aura, resulting in a more severe sanity drain of 6 points per minute.
Experimental Assistant
Weslie comes with built-in capabilities akin to Wilson’s ore and gem transformations. They also possess Gift Wrap Paper and Gunpowder from the start. Furthermore, Weslie can craft and read books, as well as build Bookshelves, with book and bookshelf unlocks functioning similarly to Grandma’s. Reading books consumes sanity, comparable to the base game mechanics. The ore/gem conversion, gunpowder, and gift wrap are immediately available without any unlocking requirements.
Staying Cozy and Mobile
Despite the dangers, Weslie is prepared for the chill:
Warm Woolen Coat
Weslie possesses 80 innate insulation, providing a buffer against the cold.
Explorer’s Gait
This trait grants a 20% movement speed bonus, alongside a 20% boost to mining, chopping, and harvesting efficiency, making Weslie an adept gatherer and explorer.
