An Unforeseen Confrontation
The appearance of The Marcus Brothers is not a certainty at every turn. Players will first encounter this formidable trio through a special town event. This event triggers after reaching week 12 and fielding at least four heroes of level 5. A narrative-driven quest in the Ruins will lead you directly to them, offering a unique story element and a taste of the trials to come. Upon successfully overcoming this initial challenge, The Marcus Brothers will begin to manifest with a 6% chance of appearing in any subsequent Champion-level Ruins quests, ensuring that future expeditions carry an added layer of peril.
Rewards for the Victorious
Defeating The Marcus Brothers is not without its significant rewards. Beyond the inherent satisfaction of overcoming a tough new enemy, you will also be able to claim unique trinkets that offer powerful bonuses. The first two victories against the brothers will grant you two distinct pieces of their forgotten gear. With every subsequent triumph, you will be rewarded with two Very Rare trinkets, offering substantial boosts to your heroes’ capabilities. These trinkets are tailored for specific classes, offering distinct advantages:
- A Highwayman’s boon, enhancing speed and riposte effectiveness at the cost of raw damage.
- A Man-at-Arms’ specialty, boosting stun chance and melee damage while slightly impacting accuracy.
- A Plague Doctor’s enhancement, focusing on blight and disease resistance but reducing speed and stun resistance.
