The Pharmacist: A New Ally for Your Darkest Dungeon Expeditions
Introducing a Unique Class Mod
Prepare to expand your roster of heroes in Darkest Dungeon with “The Pharmacist” mod. This innovative addition introduces a brand-new hero class, bringing a distinct support and offensive capability to your darkest delves. The Pharmacist is designed to offer a fresh strategic layer, focusing on both bolstering your existing party and introducing a novel ally onto the battlefield.
Summoning a Powerful Ally
The core mechanic of The Pharmacist revolves around their ability to summon an “Apothecary” ally during combat. This powerful summon can occupy an empty slot on the enemy’s side of the field, providing unique battlefield control and offensive pressure. The Apothecary possesses both supportive and offensive skills:
- Friendly Support Skills: These abilities can be strategically targeted by the player to aid your existing heroes.
- Attack Skills: When using offensive abilities, the Apothecary will randomly select enemy targets, adding an element of unpredictability to engagements.
New Trinkets and Town Events
Beyond the new hero class, this mod also integrates new content through the Crimson Court DLC. A special trinket has been added to the trinket shop, offering unique benefits when equipped. Furthermore, a new town event has been introduced to further enrich your experience within the estate. These additions are designed to complement the gameplay mechanics introduced by The Pharmacist, providing a more cohesive and engaging experience.
Important Technical Considerations
Players utilizing this mod should be aware of a potential technical consideration. The in-game summoning system can, in rare instances, cause performance issues due to the rapid loading of numerous images. To mitigate this, it is highly recommended to use the following startup command: -disable_monster_pre_loading. This command can be enabled by right-clicking Darkest Dungeon in your library, selecting properties, then general, and pasting the command into the launch options. Using this command, especially when combined with other mods that feature summoning abilities, can help ensure a smoother gameplay experience.
