The Lumberjack Miniboss mod introduces a formidable new challenge to your Darkest Dungeon expeditions, offering both peril and potent rewards for those brave enough to face him. This hulking foe is not for the faint of heart, demanding strategic prowess and a well-prepared roster.
An Unforeseen Encounter
The Lumberjack doesn’t simply wander the Weald; his appearance is heralded by a specific town event. Once your party boasts four heroes of level five and you’ve ventured past week twelve, keep an eye on your town’s happenings. This event will initiate a narrative quest within the Weald, culminating in a guaranteed confrontation with the Lumberjack. Should you emerge victorious from this initial trial, the Lumberjack gains a small but persistent chance – 6% – to ambush you on any subsequent Champion-level Weald quests.
The Spoils of Victory
Defeating the Lumberjack is not without its benefits. Two unique trophy trinkets can be claimed as a reward, each offering distinct advantages and drawbacks:
- Lumberjack’s Bane: Grants a significant boost to bleed resistance and enhances bleed skill effectiveness against both human and beast enemies. However, it comes at the cost of increased stress received and a reduced stun resistance.
- The Woodsman’s Edge: Provides a powerful damage bonus when striking weakened foes (below 50% HP) but lowers your accuracy and prevents ranged attacks from inflicting bleed. This trinket also carries a risk, as a missed attack can inflict bleed upon yourself.
A special set bonus further amplifies the effectiveness of bleed when targets are critically wounded.
