This modification streamlines the Duchess’s abilities, focusing her power on tactical positioning and potent bleed application while forgoing her transformative capabilities.

Focusing the Duchess’s Power

The core of this patch lies in removing the inherent transformation mechanic from the Duchess. Her signature ability, previously known as Monstrous Affliction, has been replaced with a versatile basic movement skill. This change allows for more predictable positioning and tactical retreats or advances without the unpredictability of form shifts. The intention is to provide a more stable and controlled combatant, ideal for strategies that rely on precise hero placement and consistent action.

Enhanced Bleed Capabilities

Beyond the movement adjustment, this patch significantly reworks the Duchess’s offensive presence, particularly her effectiveness with bleed effects. The Crimson Downpour skill receives a notable enhancement, trading a portion of bleed resistance reduction for a guaranteed and potent bleed application of 3/3. This makes her a reliable source of ongoing damage, capable of wearing down even the toughest foes.

Trinket Adjustments for Human Form

Player-favorite trinkets have also been rebalanced to better suit the Duchess’s permanent human state. The Very Rare Set Bonus, which previously offered an incentive for beast form, has been reworked to grant a straightforward +30% Bleed Chance, reinforcing her primary offensive role. Furthermore, the What Was Lost crystalline trinket sees a significant alteration, removing the penalty associated with not having the Crimson Curse and instead bestowing a valuable +5 Crit bonus. This makes the trinket a more universally beneficial item for the human-focused Duchess.
