Tired of the same old rewards after overcoming Brotato’s toughest challenges? The Surprise-Prize mod injects a welcome dose of unpredictability into your drops from Elite and Boss enemies. Get ready for a chance to snag extra fishing hooks, adding a strategic layer to your runs and potentially boosting your curse collection.

How Surprise-Prize Works

This clever mod specifically targets the chests dropped by Elite and Boss enemies. When you defeat one of these formidable foes, the chests you receive – whether Normal, Rare, or Cursed – will be subject to an additional check for hook rewards. This extra loot only triggers if you don’t currently have any fishing hooks in your inventory.

Potential Hook Rewards

Upon opening a marked chest, you’ll still receive your regular rewards, but there’s a chance for a bonus hook to appear:

• 60% Chance: Score an additional Normal Fishing Hook.
• 25% Chance: Obtain a Cursed Fishing Hook, with its bonus determined by the current wave’s curse coefficient.
• 5% Chance: Unearth a powerful Cursed Fishing Hook with a 110% curse coefficient bonus.
• 10% Chance: No additional hook reward this time.

The mod is designed to give you a better shot at acquiring these valuable items, especially when you’re in need of them. However, if you already possess either a Normal or Cursed Fishing Hook in your inventory, the Surprise-Prize mod will not activate, ensuring a balanced gameplay experience.

DLC Requirement for Hooks

Please note that fishing hooks are an integral part of the Abyssal Terrors DLC. To experience the full benefits of the Surprise-Prize mod and receive hook rewards, you must have the Abyssal Terrors DLC enabled for Brotato.
